Nana A. Serwah Apraku is a Ghanaian native who immigrated to Canada with her family at a young age. She studied Psychology and Political Science at York University and climbed the corporate ladder to
management for several years before a sudden tragedy propelled her transition to the non-profit sector. She is currently a fundraising event manager with SickKids Foundation, the number one charity brand in Canada. In her role, she leads a team responsible for generating millions of dollars annually to support the foundation’s 1.3 billion dollar goal to build a new SickKids.
As an expert fundraising strategist, Nana co-founded The Black Star Collective to create an opportunity
for other diasporic Ghanaian young professionals to make a difference in the nation’s present and
future. She has mastered the ability to transform talent and passion into currency, and is looking
forward to collaborating with the brightest Black Canadian talents through this collective to create meaningful impact in Ghana.
Sara Bond is an Ontario lawyer and first generation Canadian born to parents of Ghanaian descent. Sara completed a joint honours degree at York University in Criminology and Political Science, and then went on to complete Law school at the University of Sussex in England, UK. After completion of law school Sara returned back to Canada w
Sara Bond is an Ontario lawyer and first generation Canadian born to parents of Ghanaian descent. Sara completed a joint honours degree at York University in Criminology and Political Science, and then went on to complete Law school at the University of Sussex in England, UK. After completion of law school Sara returned back to Canada where she completed a Master of Laws in Taxation at Osgoode Hall Law School. Finally, Sara has chosen to specialize in the area of Tax and Estate Planning, and most recently completed a diploma to receive her designation (TEP) as a Trust and Estate Practitioner with the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
As a co-founder of The Black Star Collective Sara is committed to not only contributing to Canadian society but also leveraging the skills and expertise gained in Canada to strengthen the progression and development of Ghana.

He oversees the strategic planning and implementation of HR initiatives like Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, People Analytics, Benefits, Employee Performance, Total Rewards and Compensation to support people and business strategies. He holds a chartered Human Resource Leadership (CHRL) designation with the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPA).
Before moving to Canada from Ghana to pursue his master’s degree in Business Economics at Brock University, Eric worked with the Global Fund to fight Tuberculosis, Malaria, AIDS in Ghana after completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana.
